So, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" are still coming in the Micheal Bay-produced franchise reboot, the casting continues to be intriguingly random. Thus far we have Alan Ritchson (Raphael), Pete Ploszek (Leonardo), Jeremy Howard (Donatello), and Noel Fisher (Michelangelo) as the heroes on the half shell, Megan Fox as April O'Neil and Will Arnett in a role being kept under wraps. But you can take Splinter off the list of possibilities as to who Gob Bluth will play.

Deadline reports that Danny Woodburn—likely best known for his role as Mickey on "Seinfeld"—has bagged the part of the classic 'Turtles' mentor. It's a nice bit of casting, even if the ensemble as a whole seems a bit mismatched. Woodburn is definitely an unexpected choice, and we're curious to see how he'll approach the part.

The Jonathan Liebseman directed, live-action/CGI flick (talk about your red flags) will land on June 6, 2014.

Heroes...IN A...half shell. Heroes on the half shell sounds like someone is going to eat the Ninja Turtles for dinner.

A braver casting coup might have been Michael Richards as Shredder.

Looks like the tone they're aiming for in this movie is to be a mostly comedic, possibly campy one. Bad idea. The cartoon and live-action movies were cheesy, but that was because it was they were flavored by the 80s and the 90s. Trying to capture that in a film made in 2013 is asking for disaster.

Of course, I could be wrong (and I hope I am), and this could just be unconventional casting. If so, I wish them the best.

it doesn't help when they are going to just throw in a bunch of modern day slang, teens & use of "shell"phones and dubstep.
