'Midnight In Paris' Star Corey Stoll Joins Kevin Spacey & David Fincher's 'House Of Cards'

As the highly anticipated, debut Netflix series "House Of Cards" heads into production, it's easily looking like one of the most promising new shows on the horizon. From producers Kevin Spacey and David Fincher (who will be helming the pilot and possibly more episodes), the show has lined up an ace cast -- Spacey, Robin Wright, Kristin Connolly, Susannah Harker, Kate Mara -- in the American transplated remake of the 1990s BBC hit political thriller.

And now they've got another name with buzz, as Ernest Hemingway from "Midnight In Paris" -- aka Corey Stoll -- has come aboard. The story centers on Frank Underwood, the House of Representatives Majority Whip who after being passed over for the position of Secretary of State, puts a plot into motion to bring down the President. Stoll will play "Patrick Russo, a loose-cannon, womanizing three-term Italian-American congressman, divorced with two kids, who is having a torrid affair with his secretary (Connolly). When Russo gets caught driving drunk with a call-girl passenger, Underwood intervenes to save him from the scandal — but at a high cost."

No stranger to political intrigue, "The Ides Of March" screenwriter Beau Willimon is penning the script for what is shaping up to be one helluva tale. For Stoll, it's another big notch in his post-'Midnight' belt which also includes roles in "The Bourne Legacy" and the cancer drama "Decoding Annie Parker."  Needless to say, we can't for this.     Susannah Harker was in the original House of Cards. Is she in this one too, or is that a mistake?
