Jones is no stranger to the biopic face-off after playing Truman Capote in "Infamous," released and ignored a year after "Capote," but this time, it's his take on the iconic figure that's up first. "The Girl," the BBC/HBO film directed by Julian Jarrold ("Becoming Jane," "Red Riding: The Year Of Our Lord 1974"), which sees Jones play the director and Sienna Miller play Tippi Hedren in the story of the relationship between Hitch and his star of "The Birds," will premiere on the BBC in September before airing on HBO October 20th.
And to whet the appetite further, Collider got hold of a selection of new images from the film, which you can see right here. The pictures aren't terribly revelatory, but they do demonstrate that the two stars seem to be inhabiting their iconic roles well. Hopefully the script will live up to its subjects. With the film likely to air next month in the U.K., we still wonder if it might end up added to the TIFF lineup, but if not, you can catch "The Girl" on HBO on October 20th.

Miller's features are coarse and thick. Her skin looks rough. Tippi (not "Tippy") was and is elegant, chiseled. Porcelain skin. This thing will only work for people who don't pay much attention to details.

Miller looks a great idea as Tippy finally (she may be a nice idea as Grace Kelly also)
