More Pics Of Michael Fassbender & Idris Elba In Ridley Scott's 'Prometheus'

Well, Ridley Scott's "Prometheus" is just looming over the horizon and there is no movie this summer -- or hell, this year -- that is matching the anticipation felt for this quasi-"Alien" prequel. And though actual details on the plot and where this story will go has been kept mostly close to the chest, there has been a generous serving of images and video from the film, and a few more pics have arrived as you head into your weekend.

The film's Facebook Starmap app is another element of the ongoing campaign for the film, and within are a few more images of the world we'll be taken to at the multiplex. There's another shot of android Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba commandering the ship and lots of holograms. What does it all mean? Who knows, but as we already know from the trailers, things get a bit hairy for everyone when they venture to that alien planet. It seems it wasn't an invitation after all.

"Prometheus" opens in June 8th and some are speculating that it may premiere at Cannes first. Which actually, isnt' a bad guess, and remember, Scott unveiled "Robin Hood" there a couple of years back as well...

You really think that Prometheus is more anticipated than Dark Knight Rises? I'd challenge that one....

Oh...and Samantha's statement below might explain SOME of the female interest. Apparently Fassbender and, I guess Elba, has brought some excitement.

Prometheus seems to have wider audience appeal, I believe, that slightly edges out Dark Knight. As a woman, I hear the anticipation from other women wherever I go (East and West coast)... yet nothing regarding Dark Knight. Also, you have an older, yet viable audience that grew with the Alien series that is more likely to support a "Prometheus" with Ridley Scott (the originator) over Dark Knight which has had so many incarnations that it has become unrecognizable to classic Batman fans (the older set).

Co-sign. I'm looking forward to Promethesus but not before TDKR. I'm actually really really looking forward to The Great Gatsby, The Burial, The Master, Django Unchained, and Snow White and the Huntsman (just for Charlize) before Promethesus...

OMG, I love me some Fass and Idris... Cannot wait for 'Prometheus' to come out in Oz! The special effects are going to be killer; but there'll be no chance of them deflecting my attention from those two hottie bam-botties... ;-P

Noomi Rapace supposedly has a role as well. Absolutely loved her in '...Dragon Tattoo'. Big fan of Ridley Scott too! Giddy up!
