10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesWith the first screening out of the way (for select industry types only) and rumors of an epic three-hour runtime kicking around, word is buzzing on Quentin Tarantino's still largely unseen "Django Unchained." But The Weinstein Company is getting ready to roll out a big campaign for the picture, and today they launched the official website with a few goodies for those willing to dig.
Among the animated gifs the site has to offer, there are also a number of character wallpapers for your desktop with new looks at Django (Jamie Foxx), Broomhilda (Kerry Washington), Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz), Spencer "Big Daddy" Bennett (Don Johnson) and Stephen (Samuel L. Jackson). And it's that latter character that might raise a few eyebrows. The houseboy/houseslave of the baddie Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio), Jackson told Access Hollywood that he hopes the role will make him "the most hated Negro in cinematic history." Why? Because if he does his job right, Stephen will be getting under the skin of many audience members.
Check out the images below along with Jackson's interview and a promo spot for the movie. "Django Unchained" opens on Christmas Day.
