10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesFirst up, we get a new look at Henry Cavill as Superman in Zack Snyder's "Man Of Steel." There seems to be a strong military presence in this film from what we've seen so far, and this is definitely the most tortured Clark Kent to ever hit the big screen. Will audiences cotton to a serious superhero once again? Can Warner Bros. finally salvage this franchise?
Speaking of salvaging, Paramount is hoping they managed to fix the delayed and extensively reshot "World War Z." It's Brad Pitt vs. zombies. You're either buying a ticket or you're not. And that approach goes with "Oblivion," which is basically Tom Cruise playing Tom Cruise in space. You're either down or you're out.
Lastly, James Franco reaches for the mainstream brass ring by toplining Sam Raimi's bonkers looking "Oz The Great And Powerful" in which he co-stars alongside Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams, Mila Kunis, CGI, 3D, monkeys, and the dangling weight of riffing on a beloved classic. Good luck to all. Images below and much more at USA Today.
