Review: 'The Immigrant'A couple of new images of Damon and Michael Douglas in the film have dropped, once confirming the costume department has done a bang-up job. Inspired by "Behind the Candelabra: My Life With Liberace" by Liberace's lover Scott Thorson, the film will find Douglas in the lead role, with Damon co-starring as Thorson, the performer's secret lover who engaged in a globetrotting romance with the star, before their relationship deteriorated into lawsuits, and Liberace's tragic death due to AIDS. And as always with Soderbergh, we don't expect the conventional biopic approach, so we'll be curious to see how he tackles his material.
No date yet, but "Behind The Candelabra" will air on HBO in 2013. [Bleeding Cool]

I know it's totally irrational, but I can't but be like 80% less interested in this, now that it's a TV movie. I'm positive it was shot and cut the exact same way as if it were in theaters, too. Soderbergh's whole style has been really TV movie-ish the past several years, but to go ahead and make it official changes almost everything for me.
