10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesIn case you don't already know, the film is based on the book by Don DeLillo and chronicles 24 bizarre hours in the life of billionaire Eric Packer who, among other things, is being hunted by some killers and uh, needs a haircut. Robert Pattinson takes the lead, with a pretty eclectic supporting cast surrounding him, including Juliette Binoche, Samantha Morton, Jay Baruchel, Mathieu Amalric, Sarah Gadon, Paul Giamatti, Kevin Durand and yes, that's the rapper K'naan, who also contributes to the soundtrack. Some of these appearances will be brief, with Binoche saying in recent interviews that she only did about a day's worth of work on the movie. But Cronenberg is one of those guys people will set aside time for, even if it's just for a small role.
"Cosmopolis" opens in France on May 25th and will roll out in Europe in the following months, landing stateside for a late summer release through EOne. [Kinopoisk]

Didn't know this film gathers such cool ensemble cast, mainly for Europe market purpose maybe. Samantha Morton, Mathieu Amalric, et Paul Giamatti are juste awesome. When depart from some hilarious gangs such as Seth Rogen's, everybody can be pretty serious including Jay Baruchel.

i don't think this will go the way of southland tales. i do think it will split the critics, because of the material. it's very heavy, and the dialogue is very strange. either way i'm looking foward to it.

I'm curious to see how it ends up as well. I also agree that it will be polarizing.

Pattinon? You gotta fix that title, bro.

I imagine that this is going to be pretty polarizing. The teaser was absolutely amazing but it really gives a false impression of the story, which is pure-DeLillo (and mediocre DeLillo at that) and probably won't transfer well to the screen even if Cronenberg is as good a fit as anyone. Hope I'm wrong but in the end I won't be surprised if this ends up like Crash: admirable for attempting to tackle such challenging material but ultimately minor.
