New Images Of Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf & Mia Wasikowska In John Hillcoat's 'Lawless'

Bootlegging was a dirty, dangerous business and John Hillcoat's upcoming "Lawless" certainly doesn't shy away from the less glamorous aspects of the gig, and it certainly helps to tell the story when you've got an ace cast at your disposal.

Bootlegging was a dirty, dangerous business and John Hillcoat's upcoming "Lawless" certainly doesn't shy away from the less glamorous aspects of the gig, and it certainly helps to tell the story when you've got an ace cast at your disposal.

A few more images for the film -- starring Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska, Dane DeHaan, Guy Pearce, Jason Clarke and Gary Oldman -- have arrived, giving you another look at a couple of the Bondurant brothers, a love interest and a gangster watching their back. Premiering at the Cannes Film Festival last month, the film is crackling entertainment, telling the story of a moonshine slinging trio of brothers who butt heads with a special agent looking to tear apart their business. Things get brutal and bloody pretty fast, and it features pretty top notch performances all around, particulary from Hardy, who turns grunting into a comic artform.

While we don't expect this to be contender in the awards race (it's great to watch, but it's a straight up genre piece) if it connects with audiences, that could all change. We'll see what happens when the movie hits theaters on August 29th. [Empire]
