So, even though we're stuck with a bloated trilogy instead of what would've been a leaner two picture punch, the middle entry to Peter Jackson's latest saga—"The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug"—is coming to your local multiplex, but there is at least one reason to get excited: dragons.

Or rather, a single dragon, the titular Smaug who Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) and his crew will have to face off against in the upcoming movie. While a full look at the beast is still being kept under wraps, some more images of the other plays in the film have been unleashed including Evangeline Lilly's new character Tauriel, and bearded bros that we can't tell apart. Plus there's one behind-the-scenes snap too. And that's not all.

Posters, a new TV spot and a featurette have arrived as well so get your daily fill of all things Middle Earth below. "The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug" arrives on December 13th. [SciFiNow/IMPA]
