While the decision is yet to come down on whether or Warner Bros. and Peter Jackson will embark on additional shooting to create "The Hobbit: Cashing In" aka a third movie in the upcoming series of the films (we hope the director reads our open letter), they haven't kept their eyes off the prize in marketing the first movie, "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey."

And thus, E! have a couple of new pics, one featuring everyone's favorite precious, Gollum, and another behind-the-scenes snap of Andy Serkis in his mo-cap gear opposite Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins. It's a reminder of the man behind one of the most popular characters in the series of flicks, and we reckon yet another awards season campaign and conversation will mount for the actor for his work here. Thus far, the Academy hasn't been keen to recognize the efforts of an actor that winds up being animated, even if they're doing every voice, movement and gesture.

Anyway, check 'em out and prepare your eyes for the film when it lands on December 14th.
