Now a franchise queen, Jennifer Lawrence will undoubtedly be moving on to bigger and better things, and indeed, she already has -- the actress shot the period drama "Serena" with director Susanne Bier earlier this year, and will appear in David O. Russell's "Silver Linings Playbook" this fall. But she can't walk away from cheapie fare just yet, as the thriller "The House At The End Of The Street" -- shot before the whole "The Hunger Games" thing -- arrives later this year.

The film finds Lawrence playing the daughter of Elisabeth Shue, who seeks a fresh start after a divorce, and finds the house of their dreams in a small, upscale, rural town. But when startling and unexplainable events begin to take place, Sarah and Elissa learn the town is in the shadows of a chilling secret. Years earlier, in the house next door, a daughter killed her parents in their beds, and disappeared - leaving only a brother, Ryan (Max Thieriot), as the sole survivor. Against Sarah's wishes, Elissa begins a relationship with the reclusive Ryan -- with danger lurking around the corner. LOUD NOISES! So yeah, seems like pretty familiar stuff for a PG-13 movie, but hopefully Lawrence and the rest of the cast can elevate things a little.

Guess we'll see when "House At The End Of The Street" opens on September 21st. Check out a batch of new images from the movie below.

I love the shot of Jennifer Lawrence on the hood of the car...Lawrence is "the girl" in the Bruce Springsteen song Jungleland (well, she's not barefoot or drinking warm beer but still, it's very reminiscent ). Sexy tomboy working that haunted, deep stare. Jennifer Lawrence has an amazing screen presence and I'll see this one because it stars Lawrence and she will give a great performance as usual.

This is the third time this site has trashed this film - not sure why or what their agenda is. It seems to me that instead of all the other directors jumping on the bandwagon now that Jennifer is a huge success, Mark Tonderai actually proved that he has great taste by casting her in his movie. The fact that he can cast well makes me think the movie has a chance of good. The playlist's writers are a very elitist bunch of tossers in my opinion, and largely tend to suck up to name directors or pretentious and arty movies made by their friends. All pretty shameful.

Yeah, this film was shot about 2 years ago, right after Winter's Bone. In fact, long before Lawrence was even nominated for Best Actress. My guess is Lawrence will elevate the material because she's a very fine actress. All actors make a film like this early in their careers (what was she 19?)...it's like you said, it's what Lawrence is doing now that counts and Lawrence has indeed moved on to bigger and better things. Speaking of which, when will we see a trailer for Silver Linings Playbook?/Serena?.

Sounds like kinda similar situation as Elizabeth Olsen's Silent House after her becoming a rising star. Both of her and Jennifer Laurence are cool as young talents in superficial Hollywood at least they appeal healthy and independently determined.
