Now that's he's through dissing Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining," David Cronenberg can get back to finishing up "Maps To The Stars" for a rumored premiere next spring at the Cannes Film Festival. But until then, some new images from the flick have landed online, giving a closer look at his upcoming satire.

Featuring John Cusack, Julianne Moore, Mia Wasikowska, Robert Pattinson, Olivia Williams and Sarah Gadon, the Bruce Wagner penned movie follows a family of Hollywood dynasty who are not quite living the glamorous, care-free life you might expect. Here's a new synopsis via Shock 'Til You Drop:

The Weiss family is the archetypical Hollywood dynasty: father Sanford is an analyst and coach, who has made a fortune with his self-help manuals; mother Christina mostly looks after the career of their son Benjie, 13, a child star.

One of Sanford's clients, Havana, is an actress who dreams of shooting a remake of the movie that made her mother, Clarice, a star in the '60s. Clarice is dead now and visions of her come to haunt Havana at night. Adding to the toxic mix, Benjie has just come off a rehab program he joined when he was 9 and his sister, Agatha, has recently been released from a sanatorium where she was treated for criminal pyromania...

Ghosts, drugs, fire... If anyone is going to blend those together into an intriguing cocktail, it's Cronenberg. No U.S. distributor or dates yet, but it's probably a bit early yet for that sort of thing. For now, just let these pics hold you over.

Never seen the Moore pic, but the Cusack and Williams shots were floating around back in August.

I loved 'Cosmopolis', so I'll definitely watch this one too!

These pics aren't new, they've been floating around the internet for months now

I was lead to believe US distribution is eOne. If you mean a US date: yes, there is no known US date

Seems strange that they wouldn't release a Robert Pattinson photo, considering his active fan base. Maybe they did already and I missed it. Or maybe they haven't shot the Pattinson stuff yet.

It is odd they didn't run a pic of Pattinson, his name is above the title, which is star billing. He doesn't have as small a part as some people would like you to believe. He's in the film from start to finish, he doesn't just appear for 2 minutes and then disappear.

His character is the one that links all the others, and he has 3 "intimate scenes," so you can be sure he'll be prominently featured within the ensemble piece. He and Cronenberg work so well together that he usually only needs one take to get it right, so they can film many set ups in one day, he doesn't need 47 takes to do his job.

They're done shooting. He has a smaller role, so I'm sure they're releasing the main character stills first.
