Whodunits won't get much more tantalizing than David Fincher's forthcoming "Gone Girl." Based on the best-seller by Gillian Flynn and led by Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike, with a rather random batch of supporting players (Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry, Patrick Fugit), the mystery movie continue to parse out promo material like clues to a puzzle, and today brings another interesting bit of material.

Two new posters have arrived for the movie, making Affleck's Nick Dunne the center of attention. And indeed, he's the prime suspect in his wife's disappearance, with each revelation, including key entries from her diary, more and more pointing the blame in his direction. But did he do it? Or is he just a not very nice guy caught up in an extraordinary situation? My guess is that the truth lies somewhere in the middle, and no, I haven't read the book, so no spoilers, okay, thanks.

"Gone Girl" opens on October 3rd and will premiere at the New York Film Festival. [Shortlist/Buzzfeed]
