Bible movies, they’re the hottest thing in Hollywood right now. Tinseltown has figured out—though many of them haven’t even come out yet—that Bible stories are public domain and therefore it's a “franchise” they can exploit. In 2014 alone, we’ve already had three Biblical-themed movies; Darren Aronofsky’s "Noah," and two very successful indies in “Son of God,” and "Heaven Is For Real" (the latter being less “biblical” but still built for the Bible Belt crowd). Meanwhile, Steven Spielberg was interested in a Moses movie (more on that in a second), Will Smith was once reportedly eyeing the story of Cain & Abel, Paul Verhoeven is developing a JC biopic and Warner Bros. scooped up a Pontius Pilate script last year that even interested Brad Pitt.

And now there’s a King David movie in the works. And yes, it’s the King David who started from the humble beginnings of David & Goliath story, but apparently this movie is going to be a post-Goliath movie and focus on his reign (dudes, no David Untold when he "rises" to defeat Goliath first??).

The movie is being developed by 20th Century Fox and Ridley Scott’s Scott Free productions because evidently they can’t get enough of stories from the Old Testament. That Spielberg Moses movie? That became “Exodus: Gods & Kings,” which Ridley Scott directed and is coming out later this year. The movie stars Christian Bale as Moses, Joel Edgerton as Ramses and also co-stars Sigourney Weaver, Aaron Paul, Ben Kingsley, John Turturro and more. The movie is set for a December 12th release and a trailer is due later today. In the meantime, some new photos and posters have arrived. You can also tease yourself with this hilarious parody trailer “10 Things I Hate About The Commandments” which is riotously funny and well, well played. New posters via Yahoo.
