10 Essential Cinematic Antiheroes"Side Effects" is a provocative thriller about Emily and Martin (Rooney Mara and Channing Tatum), a successful New York couple whose world unravels when a new drug prescribed by Emily's psychiatrist (Jude Law) – intended to treat anxiety – has unexpected side effects. The film also stars Catherine Zeta-Jones, the perenially underrated Vinessa Shaw (great in "Two Lovers" and "3:10 To Yuma"), and Meryl Streep's daughter, Mamie Gummer, among others.
So OK, it's essentially a cut-down version of a trailer you've seen before and if this is indeed the final one well, bummer, but it still looks paranoid, eerie, with a psycho-dollop of crazy on top. Soderbergh's likened it to "Fatal Attraction" so it should be one good last ride with some bite to it. "Side Effects" is in theaters Feb 8th.
