New Teaser Poster For 'The Wolverine' Unsheathed, Character's Immortality Will Be Tested

Things in the movie world don't happen in a vacuum, and with James Mangold and Hugh Jackman taking part in an online Q&A today, followed by an unveiling of a new teaser poster for "The Wolverine," it's probably a safe bet some kind of teaser trailer will be dropping later this week. But you gotta start somewhere...

And this new one sheet is pretty sweet, and seems like something a crew like Mondo would do rather than official studio. So, thumbs up. As for that live chat, it yielded a few morsels -- with the director and actor essentially promising a pretty gritty take on the character -- among them a revelation that the immortal nature of the character would be tested. “Actually, in this movie, how do we put it? Let’s say, he discovers his Kryptonite,” Jackman teased.

“We’re addressing that. There is a challenge he faces that poses a challenge to him and makes it harder for him… There’s two aspects. One is what Hugh is alluding to, which is that some of the people Logan is up against might have found ways of getting to him than we’ve seen before…,” Mangold continued, careful not to spill too much.

Wolverine squares off against Silver Samurai in this latest chapter of the X-Men character, but perhaps this will be the first time when the character is truly brought to his knees. Could the newly released pic of Wolverine without his adamandium claws suggest one of the ways Logan is weakened? We'll soon find out. "The Wolverine" opens on July 26, 2013. [via HeyUGuys]
