10 Essential Cinematic Antiheroes
So, a new look at "Thor" has hit the web from pages of the latest Entertainment Weekly (via ComingSoon) and well, unlike the first look of "Spider-Man" which had nerds zooming in on various parts of the pic, this one won't create the same fervor. It's, well, Thor. He's got a hammer, he's hanging out in his Dad's church organ rockin' his long hair and beard. Woo.
The film is one of a trio that will hit the next spring and summer, with "The First Avenger: Captain America" and "Green Lantern" all hoping to rake in some big bucks, but we're sort of already feeling the comic book fatigue already. Each of these films will have to work hard to convince audiences they aren't all just the same film with a different dude in different colored tights in each film.
The film’s huge cast includes Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, Colm Feore, Stellan Skarsgård, Ray Stevenson, Tadanobu Asano, Idris Elba, Kat Dennings, Rene Russo and Adriana Barraza, and it will arrive in theaters on May 6, 2011.
