10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesNicholas Hoult, Michael Shannon, Elle Fanning and Kodi Smit-McPhee are set to star in "Young Ones," a thriller that will not only be directed by Paltrow, but he wrote the script too. The seemingly issue-based sci-fi flick takes place in the near future when water has become a precious resource, and it centers on a 14-year-old who must "use his wits to survive." Survive what exactly isn't spelled out in Variety's report, but you already had us at Shannon and Fanning in the same movie, so we're already there.
And we have to applaud everyone involved for keeping it under wraps, because this thing started shooting nearly a week ago in South Africa, so it's well on its way. We have to say, we're exceedingly curious about this one, especially with that cast. So we'll see if these folks can turn out a little genre surprise.
