10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesSounding a bit like "Enchanted" meets "When In Rome," the first draft that convinced Witherspoon to sign was by Randi Mayem Singer (which was originally conceived for a male lead), but the latest draft is by "Kung Fu Panda 2" screenwriters Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger. Now "Bridesmaids" director Paul Feig is in negotiations to come aboard this comedy fantasy.
Evidently Disney hopes to make this one soon, so it could be Feig's next project if the deal goes through, but honestly it does sound deeply middle of the road. Feig is still attached to Universal's rom-com "The Better Woman," is still developing "Dumb Jock" with Melissa McCarthy and producer Judd Apatow, and has several other projects on the go including a potential collaboration with Colin Firth. Frankly, many of these sound much more enticing. [THR]
