With much of The Playlist crew in Sundance, on our first episode of 2014, Managing Editor Kevin Jagernauth and Features Editor Oli Lyttelton teamed up for an hour to chat about the recent Oscar nominations, discussing who might win, the surprises and snubs and more. In the final 15 minutes, they also make time to discuss the recent news about the release of the highly anticipated "Batman vs. Superman" being pushed to 2016

    I'm going make a prediction right now and say that the super hero movie bubble is going to burst in 2016. I don't see X-Men days of future past making enough to justify that 200 million dollar budget and I think Apocalypse is either going be delayed to 2017 or canceled. Also, I think that after amazing spiderman 3, Sony's going cool off a bit and maybe rethink greenlighting those spin-offs. Just my thoughts though.

    Roadsides studio is part of LionsGate, and I think Redford was referring to the cash that was flowing in from Hunger Games. So they had the money, didn't want to spend it.
