So, remember when it was announced last fall that a biopic on reality TV sensation Susan Boyle was in the works? Well, it looks like she's going to star in a movie first.
The singer is set to make her feature film debut alongside "Les Miserables" star Samantha Barks in “The Christmas Candle," the plot of which sounds about a corny as the title. Based on the Max Lucado novella, the period film concerns the titular Christmas candle, and what happens when it goes missing. Of course, a holiday miracle and various human contrivances will make sure it's discovered again. A pretty decent cast has been rounded up for this one, including Hans Matheson (the non-musical 1998 “Les Miserables”), Lesley Manville (“Another Year”), John Hannah (“The Mummy”), James Cosmo (“Game of Thrones”), Sylvester McCoy (“The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey”) and Barbara Flynn (“Miss Potter”).
