We're not sure what's going on in the Chris Martin household, but Apple's parents are looking to be switching up their careers. With Gwyneth Paltrow making strides into the music biz, Martin and his bandmates are now dipping their toes into the hard knock world of film financing.
Variety reports that Coldplay and private investor Merzbau (not to be confused with Merzbow, although that would've been awesome), are putting their money behind the film noir pic "Ashes." Set to star a pretty great cast including Ray Winstone, Jim Sturgess, Lesley Manville, Jodie Whittaker and Luke Evans, but details on the actual story or logline are nowhere to be found.
The film is written by Paul Viragh and will be directed by Mat Whitecross who recently paired on the pretty godawful Ian Dury biopic "Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll." So while we're wary of what they'll be delivering this time around, the cast is just too good to ignore.
Filming stars on March 21st around the Isle Of Man.
