10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesTHR reports Eden Wood, AKA The One That Isn't Honey Boo Boo, has signed on to portray the role of Darla in the latest “Little Rascals” film, derived originally from producer Hal Roach's '20s and '30s B&W shorts. Wood, who like Ms. Boo was featured in her own spin-off entitled “Eden's World,” will count the part as her first cinematic foray, letting DTV director Alex Zamm (“Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2”) attempt to scrounge some magic from the misfit kids' travels.
None of the other kids -- like Spanky, Alfalfa, or Buckwheat -- have been cast yet, but rounding out the adult side of proceedings are Doris Roberts, Greg Germann and Lex Medlin. Spheeris' film was a delightful romp that has only grown in standing since its 1994 release, and luckily this newest version isn't likely to change things due to a swift straight-to-DVD path.
The “Raging Bull 2” of children's films, “The Little Rascals” reboot starts shooting this week.
