10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesTheron's performance is certainly promising to be one of the most entertaining this year as she portrays a young adult fiction writer who returns to small-town Minnesota where she grew up, looking to rekindle a romance with her ex-boyfriend, who is now married with kids. And, most importantly, doesn't this film just look like it's going to be a fun time? Patrick Wilson, Elizabeth Reaser, J.K. Simmons, Collette Wolfe all co-star alongside Patton Oswalt, who has been garnering some small award season talk for his performance as an old schoolmate of Mavis'.
Also, surprisingly buried underneath a lot of Reitman/Theron hype for the film is the fact it'll be Diablo Cody's first cinematic venture since "Jennifer's Body," which will be followed relatively soon after by her directorial debut "Lamb Of God" starring Russell Brand and Julianne Hough. Judging from the clip below, we're in for a treat; the film opens in limited release on December 9th before going wide a week later.

Yeah a lot of the TV spots have been pretty bad.

Wow. What a profoundly irritating trailer. I wonder if the people in charge of marketing want to keep people away from the movie.
