With the thriller "One Shot" gearing up to shoot very soon, the casting rounds continue and more excellent names continue to get added.

The latest is none other than certified badass Robert Duvall, who Variety reports has joined the film. The last time the actor shared the screen with Tom Cruise was two decades ago when the paired up on "Days Of Thunder" but this is quite a different vehicle (pun intended.) Based on the best-selling book by Lee Child (one of many in the series), that has been written and will be directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the story finds ex-military man and drifter Jack Reacher (Cruise) drawn into the case of a military sniper accused of five murders and discovers a twisty cover-up along the way. Everyone is keeping mum on Duvall's role which is said to be small but pivotal.

Duvall joins an already strong group of actors that includes Cruise, Rosamund Pike as the attorney defending the accused man, David Oyelowo as a homicide detective in charge of the case, Richard Jenkins as the district attorney who prosecutes the sniper and Alexia Fast as dangerous eye-candy. Lensing starts soon and the film hits on February 8, 2013.

Or, better yet, Duvall could play the dude who owns the shooting range.

I wouldn't be surprised if Duvall played the accused. He could be The Zec, but that would be extremely disappointing. Just cast a Russian.

Please cast Tom Hanks and/or Julia Roberts in this. I’ve always wanted to see Tom Cruise do a movie with each of them.
