More like "Fifty Shades Of Rumors," amirite? After Charlie Hunnam's surprise exit from the whips 'n cuffs blockbuster, there has been as much speculation about the actor's departure, as there has been chatter about who will take his place. And now another name has joined the fray.

JustJared are saying that Francois Arnaud — aka Cesare Borgia on "The Borgias" — is in the mix to play Christian Grey in "Fifty Shades Of Grey." He now joins Alexander Skarsgard, Jamie Dornen ("The Fall"), Theo James ("Divergent," "Underworld: Awakening") and Christian Cooke (the most recent "Romeo And Juliet") as possibilities for the part. But as you might guess, no formal offers have been made, though he's reportedly been "approached."

So, feel free to speculate below as Universal continues to race against the clock to start production on schedule next month, and get this into theaters for August 1, 2014.

I love how all the hard core "Fifty Shades" fans only care about how physically suited the actors are to the roles. I guess it reflects how all the characters are written paper thin. How about acting ability? Presence? Charisma?

Agreed. It seems that all these cray cray fans only mattered for the physical aspects of Christian Grey but it seems the truth about this trash of book. Also they're out of reality because they think is a golden role even when the truth is almost EVERY A-List and B-List young actors rejected this film -Ryan Gosling, Henry Cavill, Matt Bomer, Garrett Hendlund, Robert Pattinson-.

It was a miracle that someone like Charlie Hunnam accepted the role before, but no, it wasn't enough and now -With the recent news of Patrick Marber making the changes- this production is a complete mess and a laughing joke.

    ho yes!!!!

All awful! Is everyone, including the team, forgetting what Christian Grey is supposed to look like? Francois is tall but other than that he is NOT Christian. Christian is breathtakingly beautiful, broad shouldered, greek god like and masculine. This guy does not look powerful or protective and manly at all (yes Ive seen his work too). They better not make the same mistake they did for Ana and cast someone totally opposite for the role! But at this point I shouldn't be surprised. *sigh*

They should try D.J. Cotrona too!

I propose that François Arnaud Acteur Francois Arnaud should be Christian Greay...As Cesare Borgia He properly proved to be as soft and hard as Christian Grey would be... Please take a look before judging...

    Absolutely NOT

  • Sara | October 17, 2013 12:59 AMReply

No way. Christian is broad shouldered, masculine and breathtakingly beautiful. This guy is not that at all.

If Françios Arnaud is in it I would actually see this movie.

He is gorgeous...!!! But if he's as smart as I hope he is, he won't do this *schitty* movie, they can cast whomever they want, but keep my favourite guys (François, Matt Bomer, Alex Skarsgard) out of the options, those guys has good carreers ahead of them and we don't need you to make another Robert Pattinson out of them...
This movie could have been good, even after those crappy books, it could have been really good, I pictured Allan Ball writting it and Gus Van Sant directing it (my dream team specially after Van Sant showed interest in it) it could have been the next Last Tango in Paris, or Bittermoon, but noooooo, they wanted to make it another Twilight, good, go hire the next unsubstantial, talentless post teen heartrob and leave François (and Matt and Alex) alone! Thank you...

P.S.: now comes François and takes the part... *hand meets face*

He looks perfect for the role.

  • Sara | October 17, 2013 12:58 AM

How? He is tall yes, but he isn't broad-shouldered and greek-god like or masculine enough.
