It seems the memo going around Hollywood right now is: "If you have rights to a comic book character, put them all in your next movie." Bryan Singer seems obsessed with maxing out 20th Century Fox's catalog of cartoons in "X-Men: Days Of Future Past," while Joss Whedon is already teasing what new faces are going to pop up in "The Avengers 2" (Aaron Taylor-Johnson is already tipped to play Quicksilver). Now, it looks like "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" will be stacking the cast with more players ripped from the page.

What we know is already is that Rhino (Paul Giamatti), Electro (Jamie Foxx) and Harry Osborn/Green Goblin (Dane DeHaan) will all be stopping by and now, according to Comic Book Movie, Vulture will be spreading his wings. Colm Feore, who joined the cast earlier this year, will apparently be playing the part in what is supposed to be the building blocks of The Sinister Six. Sound outrageous? It's not really as last year, producers Matt Tolmach and Avi Arad were already teasing this was the direction the series was going in. As for which villains will fill the other two slots (The Sinister Six had a variety of incarnations in the comics) that remains to be seen.

If you're playing catch-up, Sinister Six was a group spearheaded by Doctor Octopus -- that also included Kraven the Hunter, Mysterio, and Sandman -- to finally defeat Spider-Man. So there are a lot of options in terms of villains to add, but it also depend on which ones Sony has the rights to.

As Spidey fans know, Sam Raimi's mooted fourth movie that never happened would've had John Malkovich play The Vulture, with Anne Hathaway as Black Cat. Whether elements of that story will find their way into this series remains to be seen. But is this too much? "Spider-Man 3" barely survived having as many baddies as it did. Is this just all a set up for a truly messy "The Amazing Spider-Man 3" or the ultimate Spidey movie fans want? Until we see how 'Amazing 2' does on May 2, 2014 weigh in below.

is sony suppose to have the green goblin in the amazing spider-man 3? the sinister six that i would like to see in the amazing spider-man 2 are electro, the rhino, the vulture, the black cat, mysterio and the lizard.

So theres Electro, Rhino, Lizard, Green Goblin and Vulture. I Think the 6th would be Black cat as Felicity Jones is in it as Villian also...

Marc Webb couldn't even create ONE interesting villain in The Lizard, or whoever that character was. As a director, Webb is the king of one-dimensional characters. Don't expect a lot of personality from any of these two or three or six villains. Hell, he mind as well introduce all of Spiderman's enemies and get it over with.

How many villians does Marc Webb need? He should Just keep it at Electro and That's it! How could 4 villians possibly fit in with the storyline of the film. This is just like Spider-Man 3 all over again. You can Introduce One or two of the other villians in The Amazing Spider-Man 3. And Maybe if That does well... Make a fourth with the other villians or better yet after the third... Reboot it! YOU DON'T NEED 4 VILLIANS IN THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2!!!

Spider man 3 was a forced mess. The producers forced venom. Rami wanted sandman. The sinister six can and will work. Not every character needs a standalone film for an origin. Probably will not feature doc ock if green goblin is the boss but still could. Kraven will definitely be another member of the 6. Marc web teased kraven in the "tusk tusk tweet". Essentially what I am saying is green goblin in charge and 5 sub villians who would never have there own standalone film. Rhino electro vulture scorpion kraven...but we will see. My hypothesis: rhino vulture scorpion all cross species experiments for a cure. Eletro is his henchman that keeps everyone in check. And well kraven hunts down spidy for his spider blood.... and I believe our buddy venom will be the bad guy in TAS3.

goblin is not in the next ne if he is it will be at the end Hathaway was not cast as black cat she was Felicia hardy daughter of the vulture and possibly becoming vultress (look it up!) vulture is not rumoured Adrian tombs is Adrian has worked for Osborn in many incarnations

Uhh, Spiderman is owned by Sony, not Fox. Also, Norman Osborn is the first Green Goblin, Harry comes later.

I really don't want this movie to end up like Spider-Man 3 it's already sad enough that there wasn't going to be a Spider-Man 4 when I heard who was going to be in it.

Jesus Christ, how many characters does this sequel have in total? Is the film gonna be 3.5 hours long cos i think it needs to be to fit everyone in!

This is like Spiderman 3 all over again and no one has bothered to tell Marc Webb! Way too many characters to fit in.

    Harry Osborn/Green Goblin ? Uuuh... something's wrong.

  • XCar | June 10, 2013 12:20 PMReply

DeHaan will not show up as green goblin in this movie, that won't happen until the third movie. I think throwing Vulture into the mix with Rhino and Electro is a bad decision. It will be too much, unless they start off with Spidey fighting the vulture and catching or defeating him right at the Beijing as if he has been fighting him for a while and finally caught him. It might work then.

Dane Dehaan is playing Harry Osborn, not the Green Goblin. And Anne was to play Black Cat.

  • IndieJesus | June 10, 2013 12:11 PMReply

Anne was going to play the Black Cat, not 'The Vultress'. And ease your jets on Dane Dehaan appearing as Green Goblin, that won't happen till the third Spiderman.

Was Raimi's 4th film not also going to finally have Dylan Baker playing the Lizard?

  • Rob | June 10, 2013 11:35 AMReply

Rather see them do Venom and Carnage correctly, but at this point, whatever. PS. Paul Giamatti and Jamie Foxx are playing Electro?

Who cares? Can't wait for Man of Steel!
