Who will be this generation's Luke Skywalker? With J.J. Abrams now kicking off a new trilogy with "Star Wars: Episode 7," one that looks back at George Lucas' franchise and starts with the inclusion of Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, while also looking forward with a cast of young up and comers that includes Oscar Isaac, John Boyega and Domhnall Gleeson (with Adam Driver reportedly the villain), who will be our new hero?
Well Latino Review believes they have the answer (along with being "75% sure I know how 'Star Wars: Episode VII' ends"). Anyway, they claim that Boyega's character—who is not a Jedi or Padawan—will tie "into Star Wars’ greater universe" and "has echoes of Luke’s arc in 'A New Hope.' " Meaning, he's probably another everyman who doesn't realize the gifts he has.
Other morsels include a suggestion that there will be a female villain who may be a Sith, and there is no New Republic in this movie.
All we can say is, if John Boyega is indeed the heroic lead of the new "Star Wars" film, we endorse that wholly. Whether it's actually true, we'll have to wait and see. "Star Wars: Episode 7" arrives on December 18, 2015.
