The latest from a Tweet by Production Weekly suggests Warner Bros. is shooting for the stars, hoping to cast the roles of Ares and Agenor with Oscar winner Javier Bardem and potential Oscar nominee James Franco, respectively. It would be a major coup to get either of these actors to do a cash-in sequel, to the point where this would become a much more prestigious film. Specifically to the point where people would have to forget it was gang-written and under the eye of "Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning" director Johnathan Liebesman. So yeah, count on Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Jared Padalecki instead.
As for "All You Need Is Kill," it's a highly-sought-after project that remains early in pre-production and has Doug Liman at the helm. We had heard rumblings of Zac Efron being involved, but he's set up a couple dozen projects to fill his schedule, meaning this lead role is up for grabs. Does that leave the door open for Ryan Gosling? We're digging into that one and will hopefully have some news on that front later in the day so stay tuned.
