10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesRyan O'Neal, who has already worked with other legendary filmmakers like Stanley Kubrick ("Barry Lyndon"), Peter Bogdanovich ("Paper Moon") and Richard Attenborough ("A Bridge Too Far"), has now joined the ever growing cast of Malick's film, tweeting out earlier today: "Had a great day shooting on Terrence Malick's new film with the wonderful Natalie Portman @NPortmanFans & Christian Bale @Christian_bale_" along with a picture of his trailer (see below).
Of course, no word on his role (or plot details for that matter), but there are a couple more names that may be involved with the production. The Film Stage noticed via the IMDB boards for the film, a series of tweets from a couple of young actresses/extras on the movie who say that Antonio Banderas and Joe Manganiello are also shooting scenes for the movie. That hasn't been verified just yet -- among the plethora of paparazzi pics, they haven't been seen in any as far as we can tell -- but then again, folks like Michael Sheen and Amanda Peet flew well under the radar for "To The Wonder" so anything is possible.
Malick contiues work on the movie before switching to (the movie formerly known as) "Lawless" this fall. As for when we'll see this, given that his usual post-production cycle seems to take a least a year or two, we wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't arrive until 2015 at the earliest. Hell, "To The Wonder" probably won't be coming until 2013 as the picture is still without a U.S. distributor.
