10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesAll this to say, Sarah Jessica Parker will be making it up to women (and men) everywhere by taking on the role of trailblazing feminist Gloria Steinem in "Lovelace," taking on the role abandoned by Demi Moore due to Red Bull addiction/anorexia/whatever-is-in-the-tabloids-at-the-moment. The role isn't a very big one -- it's essentially a cameo role -- but Steinem was a figure in the porn star's life, penning the article "The Real Linda Lovelace" which took Lovelace's husband, Chuck Traynor, to task for the stories he was spreading around about the sexual appetites of his wife. Steinem also wrote the introduction to Lovelace's memoir, "Out Of Bondage," and also appeared at the press conference for her first book, "Ordeal."
Shooting is already underway on the film with Amanda Seyfried and Peter Sarsgaard leading an extended supporting cast that recently added Chloë Sevigny as well. "Howl" directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman are at the helm. [Variety]
