Scott Adkins To Play Henchman For Jean-Claude Van Damme In 'The Expendables 2'

Yes, the casting continues on "The Expendables 2," the sequel to last year's surprising smash hit movie (hauling over $270 million worldwide), and it's bringing together a batch old fogies such as Sylvester Stallone, Randy Couture, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jean-Claude Van Damme, with more names getting their schedules worked out and Liam Hemsworth recently added to try and provide some younger eye candy. Well, one more rumored name has now been confirmed, and at the age of 35, he'll be on the younger end of the ass-kicking spectrum.

If you don't know who the hell Scott Adkins is, that's probably because you have better things to do than watch the fight flick trilogy "Undisputed." But the man certainly knows his way around a fight sequence, and in "The Expendables 2" Moviehole reports he'll be reteaming with his direct-to-DVD "Assassination Games" co-star Van Damme, playing his henchman in the movie. Adkins had been listed on the cast sheet earlier this month. While a lot of those names didn't appear to be quite locked in, Adkins' now is.

So there you have it. Still more casting to come we're sure (are any ladies gonna be in this thing or will be a big sausage party like the last movie?). Simon West will sit in the director's chair and the movie hits on August 17, 2012.

I like sly and van damme but it will be stupid making them fight as van damme is a far more talented fighter than sly hes a master in martial arts sly is not trained in anything sly vs bruce willis and van damme vs stathem or dolph wuld be more realistic

Assassination Games is not a DTV movie! It got limited theatercial releases in USA and it did very well! Van Damme should be back to the big screen upon million of fans' request around the world.

Scott Adkins is a great choice! I recently watched the aptly-titled "Ninja," and the dude is a great action movie actor.

I think since Stallone will fight Van Damme then Statham or Li will fight Adkins.
