10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesCohen is perhaps best known for writing "Tropic Thunder" and for being one of the many contributors to "Men In Black III." We're also intrigued by his script called "Revenge of the Jocks," which is currently in pre-production. Cohen has nothing to do with the script for "Boy Scouts vs. Zombies" though, it was penned by Carrie Evans and Emi Mochizuki ("College Road Trip"), but little is known about it beyond its title. We're going to guess that there are some boy scouts, and that then there are some zombies, that perhaps at some point some of the boy scouts become zombies, and that generally some boy scout and zombie-related shit goes down.
Cohen has previously only directed a short called "My Wife is Retarded," but he had a decent cast on board, which included Gary Cole, Sean Astin and Leslie Bibb. He'll be hoping for a decent cast again this time, but it sounds to us like this is the kind of high-concept film that will get by without star names. Back in 2010 Andy Flickman ("You Again") had looked set to direct the film, but in this iteration of the project he's listed as a producer instead. We're going to reserve judgment on this one until we hear a little more about it, but we hope for Cohen's sake that it has an easier journey to the big screens than the similarly high-concept "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies." Fuck do I hate zombies. People complain about vampires being over-saturated but at least they have some nuance and variation to their mythology. Self-serious Romero-wannabes are annoying enough but whoever decided that shoehorning zombies into anything automatically made it clever should be shot...and on a more positive note, best of luck Etan, I guess...
