A couple of years ago, Sofia Coppola directed a cute and whimsical little spot for Miss Dior Chérie (see below) and the ad became a bit of sensation, and to date, has registered over a million hits on YouTube.
So no wonder then that Dior wants to up the ante, and they've hired Coppola to once again shoot a new campaign for the fragrance, and teamed her with arguably the hottest actress in Hollywood right now, "Black Swan" star Natalie Portman. The television ad will apparently even show a glimpse of a white swan causing Portman to quip at a recent press conference announcement, “It’s subliminal advertising for my film.”
The print campaign (shot by Tim Walker) and television spot will roll out in March 2011. Coppola's latest feature effort "Somewhere" opens in limited release on December 22nd. [SassiSam]
