By now, the paparazzi have eclipsed their duty in circulating the razor-thin frame of Matthew McConaughey across the web, first snapped while on set for his role in Martin Scorsese's “The Wolf of Wall Street,” and now leading into his role as an AIDS patient with the indie drama “Dallas Buyers Club.” However, a formidable supporting lineup has also quietly signed on to the project around the actor's publicity, two more have joined the film sourced from real-life events.

By now, the paparazzi have eclipsed their duty in circulating the razor-thin frame of Matthew McConaughey across the web, first snapped while on set for his role in Martin Scorsese's “The Wolf of Wall Street,” and now leading into his role as an AIDS patient with the indie drama “Dallas Buyers Club.” However, a formidable supporting lineup has also quietly signed on to the project and two more have joined the film, which is sourced from real-life events.

Directed by Jean-Marc Vallée ("The Young Victoria"), the '80s period film features McConaughey as Ron Woodruff, a man battling AIDS and diagnosed with six months to live, who then teams with a doctor to find alternative treatments for the disease. Also joining him in the search, reports Variety, will be Steve Zahn and “The Grey” star Dallas Roberts, the latter of whom will play Woodruff's defense attorney, David Wayne, fighting for the legalization of certain meds in AIDS treatment. Zahn will play a Texas officer who finds sympathy toward Ron's developing cause stemming from his own father's Alzheimer's battle.

The Craig Borten/Melissa Wallack-scripted project also boasts Jared Leto as a cross-dressing drug smuggler drawing the FDA into the fray, and a number of recent set photos have indeed confirmed that fact. You can spot that image up above (via E!Online), but while “Dallas Buyers Club” finishes up filming in New Orleans, let's hope its end result will stay true to its compelling premise, and not fall into the body-morphing Oscar bait slot that it very well could.
