They say a picture is worth 1,000 words, so here’s 28,000 (not really) courtesy of stills from movies that run the gamut from highly anticipated sequels to smaller indie fare. Head on down below and get yr eyeballs ready.

For those looking for laughs in the dog days of summer, there’s new images from the Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy-starring buddy-cop comedy “The Heat” that include Biff Tannen himself. There’s also a still of Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn playing Quidditch in “The Internship” and one of the whole gang from “Grown-Ups 2.”

If you’re one to duck into an art house theatre during the deluge of blockbusters, you can take a look at images from “Prince Avalanche,” “Only God Forgives,” the true-story “The Iceman,” the “Maniac” remake, thriller “Closed Circuit,” “Lovelace,” the Katie Aselton-helmed “Black Rock,” “The Bling Ring,” Richard Linklater’s trilogy-closing “Before Midnight,” the Julianne Moore-starring “English Teacher,” Brian De Palma’s “Passion” and “The Way, Way Back.” So it’s safe to say that there’ll be no shortage of alternatives this summer.

On the kid friendly side of things, new images have been released from animated sequels/spin-offs “Monsters University,” “Planes” (the “Cars” spin-off), “Despicable Me 2” and “Turbo,” the racing snail movie (seriously). They’re all suitably bright and colorful (and truth be told, hard to differentiate). There’s a couple of images from the sequel no one asked for, “Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters” as well as one from another hopeful YA blockbuster, “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.” Will either of these become hit or are they both destined to end up like this year’s “Beautiful Creatures”?

Anyway, even more below. Consult your local listings, please turn off your cell phone before the screening starts. [EW]
