Two music-based/centered movies on the way to Sundance, featuring a couple actresses we really dig. Onwards...

Anne Hathaway goes indie with "Song One," which features music written by former Rilo Kiley frontwoman and solo artist Jenny Lewis alongside her boyfriend Johnathan RiceJohnny Flynn, Mary Steenburgen and Ben Rosenfield co-star in the Kate Barker-Froyland directed film. Synopsis below: 

When an accident leaves her brother comatose, a woman sets out to retrace his life as an aspiring musician, leading to an unexpected relationship against the backdrop of Brooklyn’s music scene.

Meanwhile, Elle Fanning will go jazz in "Low Down" alongside John Hawkes, Glenn Close, Lena Headey, Peter Dinklage and Flea (what a cast, nice work Jeff Preiss). Official synopsis: 

This adaptation of Albany’s memoir explores her journey to adulthood while being raised by her troubled father, bebop pianist Joe Albany.
