10 Essential Cinematic Antiheroes
As we noted, summer movie season looks to be more than ever a place for comic book movies, sequels and adaptations so it's pretty thrilling to see a film actually based on an original idea. (Even if it is pretty heavily an homage to producer Steven Spielberg's late 70s/early 80s work.) Because it's not based on a line of action figures, Paramount has their work cut out for them marketing this thing to the masses but so far they are nailing it every step of the way. We'd venture to guess that Abrams, who helped engineer the campaign for 2008s similarly mysterious "Cloverfield" is closely involved in how much they're allowed to reveal. The first poster for the film keeps up the mysterious vibe, throwing in one of Abrams signature lense flares and even bears a small resemblance to another one of Abrams projects. If Paramount keeps it up they should have a massive hit on their hands, let's just hope they don't get spooked and rush out a trailer a few weeks before the film's release that gives away the whole thing.
"Super 8" will hit theaters on June 10th. [via Screencrave]
