Ok, now we're talking. This is a teaser-trailer and hats off to director J.J. Abrams for soaking up the Steven Spielberg, '70s nostalgia and presenting it in a way that definitely feels like its straight from that halcyon day Amblin-era, including the Michael Giacchino score that sounds amazingly like a leftover John Williams track.

Sporting a decidedly old-school feel, "Super 8" stars Elle Fanning, Kyle Chandler, Noah Emmerich, Ron Eldard and Amanda Michalka. It hits theaters on June 10, 2011 and it'll be one of the rare big studio tentpoles not arriving in 3D.

The difference between this and all the other big blockbuster spots is huge. While the likes of Pirates, Transformers, Cowboys and Aliens, etc seem like the 'coolest' excerpts from a pile of visual vomit, here it seems like we saw a few fragments of an actual film, with a story, characters and a point of view.

    I could be wrong though.

the music isn't Giacchino OR Williams. It's James Horner's score from Cocoon.

I'm still not sold on Abrams as a director. Despite Star Trek being good, MI:3 sucked. Guess this will be the deciding film.

Goonies+ET+Jurassic Park=? Not sure what this mashup of classic Spielberg and fanboy Abrams is going to result in. Hopefully it'll be a cool movie.

This is going to be one of the very best movies of 2011. Mark my words.

I know Giacchino is doing the score, but are you sure that was him in the ad and not Williams?

Looks exciting. That picture up top looks like the shot in Star Trek where Kirk is looking at the Enterprise.
