A Million Ways to Die in the West
So in case you were living under a rock this weekend or better yet, you were consuming a lot of great HBO, you might have realized the MTV Movie Awards took place (“The Hunger Games” won a bunch of shit, just like the “Twilight” movies before it). That means every studio and their mother released some kind of new clip or TV Spot and we have a few more stragglers today.

22 Jump Street
We started the day with "22 Jump Street," so we might as well end it there too. Earlier, we got the first clip and a bunch of new images for the movie, and now just as we're about to go to bed, Sony has dropped the final, three-minute red band trailer for the movie. And yes, it looks really good.

22 Jump Street
Jenko and Schmidt are back on duty this summer in "22 Jump Street," and in Phil Lord and Chris Miller we trust. Given carte blanche to do what they wanted the first time out with the property, the directors turned a former Johnny Depp trivia question TV show into an outlandish buddy-cop comedy that turned every convention upside down. So hopefully, we're getting more of the same in part deux.

22 Jump Street
Whenever a green band trailer arrives after the saltier red band version, you can feel the difference, with the safe-for-work cut largely devoid of everything that makes the movie special. That's not the case for "22 Jump Street." While red band trailer is certainly hilarious, it speaks to just how good this is looking that the safe for work cut will still leave you with a big dumb grin on your face.

22 Jump Street
Ordinarily, we're wary of sequels especially for comedies (we love you Will Ferrell, but "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues" has a huge bar to hit), but we'll say this: the first red band trailer for "22 Jump Street" made us laugh. A lot.

21 Jump Street Brie Larson Jonah Hill
A few months ago we ran into Brie Larson and asked her if she'd be returning for the hotly anticipated sequel to last year's surprise breakthrough "21 Jump Street." She sounded totally in and was looking forward to returning to the lighter world of big budget studio fare after spending a lean year making thought-provoking independent features (like this summer's amazing "The Spectacular Now" and "Short Term 12"). Apparently, this is no longer the case, as she recently told ScreenCrush that she would not be back for another round of R-rated hilarity alongside Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill.

This isn't necessarily shocking news but the timing is sort of weird: The Wrap is reporting that Sony and subtlety-proof Original Films producer Neil H. Moritz have optioned the remake rights to Jacques Audiard's jaw-dropping French crime epic "A Prophet." The original movie, which charted the ascension of a small time criminal who, after being imprisoned, rises in the criminal ranks, was nominated for the 2010 Best Foreign Language Film Oscar and won the Grand Prix award at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival. Something tells us the remake will escape similar glories.
