Breaking Bad
The 66th Primetime Emmy Awards were held last night in Los Angeles. And if you thought that NBC were somehow airing a repeat of last year's ceremony, you'd be forgiven: the awards were dominated by previous winners, with "Modern Family" tieing "Frasier"'s record for most victories in comedy, and "Breaking Bad" taking its third drama prize on the trot.

Barely Legal Pawn
Oh sure, we like our artsy fartsy movies, and ruminate with furrowed brows about the Oscars and the industry, and whatnot. But at the end of the day, you're just as likely to find Playlist members sitting down to watch "Chopped" or "Pawn Stars." That's just how we roll. And it looks like we're not the only ones.

Christian Bale, Exodus
Filmmaker Ridley Scott is 76 years old, but you wouldn’t know it from his prodigious output. He’s got 22 features under his belt, and between 2000-2014, he’ll have directed twelve feature-length projects (that’s 1.16 films a year if you wanna get nerdy about it). “Filmmaking for him must be like breathing.” Joel Edgerton told Entertainment Weekly about his “Exodus: Gods And Kings” director. “He’s got all the passion of a young filmmaker,” the lead actor Christian Bale said. “He’s not jaded.”

Exodus: Gods & Kings
"I guess I didn't pay attention in Sunday School," Ridley Scott told Entertainment Weekly recently about the depth of the story he'll explore in "Exodus: Gods And Kings." "There was so much I had forgotten. It's a marvelous human story about change. There are massive questions here. You treat it with great respect."

After debuting at the Sundance Film Festival in January, and then hitting SXSW in March where it picked up a Gamechanger Award - Special Mention for writer/director Kat Candler, it's now in theatres and coming close to you this weekend.

Better Caul Saul
The story of Walter White and Heisenberg may be over, but we’ll still be seeing more of the seedy underbelly of Albuquerque, New Mexico on our TV screens thanks to the Saul Goodman-centric prequel spinoff “Better Call Saul.” Although we last heard the show was aiming for a November premiere, we may have to wait a little longer to see our favorite sleazy criminal lawyer.

Aaron Paul, Hellion
It's a somewhat glib, reductive thought, but the archetype of the Sundance indie film (apart from being cutesy and unbearably quirky) often can be summed up in its miserablist bleakness. And if some Park City indies can sometimes be defined by their dark, depressing nature with few rays of hope, "Hellion" (which premiered earlier this year at Sundance) may not fit that bill exactly, but it sure comes close.

A Long Way Down
Four people go up to a rooftop at the same time to commit suicide, and wind up forging friendships instead and a pact to stay alive. Yes, that's the basic summary of "A Long Way Down," the upcoming comedy (really) from Pascal Chaumeil, the director behind French rom-com "Heartbreaker" that put him on the map a few years back. Though, this might take him off it.

Joe, Nicolas Cage
After jostling with a couple different casting iterations, "Bachelorette" writer/director Leslye Headland has lined up Jason Sudeikis, Alison Brie, Adam Scott, Amanda Peet, Jason Mantzoukas and Natasha Lyonne for "Sleeping With Other People." The story follows a womanizer named Jake (Sudeikis), and a serial cheater (Brie), who form a platonic relationship to overcome their chronic infidelity. The film is described as " 'When Harry Met Sally' but with assholes," and production will begin in June, with Will Ferrell and Adam McKay producing.
