With Brad Pitt (and Angelina Jolie likely in tow) and Sean Penn pretty much guaranteed to hit the Cannes Film Festival this year for Terrence Malick's "The Tree of Life," paparazzi are going to be out in full force, and when reports surfaced last week that the Queen Of Pop herself was headed for the Croisette with her latest directorial effort "W.E." we can only imagine that photogs thought they had struck gold. But alas, Madonna won't be hitting the south of France this spring.

We're right on the verge of hitting 2011 (look out for our mammoth preview pieces next week), and one of the highest profile pictures in the early part of the year is Zack Snyder's passion project "Sucker Punch." Warner Bros. are hoping that by giving one of their key directors (who is, after all, next set to tackle the crown jewel of "Superman") a huge budget to indulge his own interests, they'll be able to match the success they had with the same approach on Christopher Nolan's "Inception."

We'll give the trailer for the upcoming sci-fi thriller "Limitless" this much -- it nails the depiction of the freelance writer as a scraggly, sloppy mess pretty accurately. Or maybe this writer has said too much about himself already.

Amanda Seyfried, Blake Lively & Abbie Cornish Also In ContentionDo these names seem familiar? Yep, its the go-to crop of actresses that seem to circle every major project and you've probably seen them crop up as potential leads for Alfonso Cuaron's "Gravity" and Ridley Scott's "Alien" prequel. So not really much of a surprise then that another high profile project, Baz Luhrmann's "The Great Gatsby" now has these usual contenders being linked to the part of Daisy. If you had asked us to guess what names would be considered, these faces probably would've been right up there.

So Ridley Scott is apparently done meeting with potential leads for his upcoming "Alien" prequel and surprise, surprise, the list of names in contention for the part is still the same as it has been for the past little while: Noomi Rapace, Carey Mulligan, Abbie Cornish and Natalie Portman.
