That's the ambitious central premise of "About Time," the latest from "Love Actually" writer/director Richard Curtis, that takes the traditional rom-com and adds a little does of time travel in for good measures. Even before it makes its way into theatres, Richard Curtis’ latest romantic comedy, "About Time," is showing its time-travelling prowess. The Working Title feature starring Rachel McAdams and Domhnall Gleeson follows a 21-year-old who finds out he can time travel, and uses his ability to go back in time and meet the girl he loves for the first time, over and over again. The film was due for release on May 10th, but Universal has sent it back to the future and it will now debut on November 1st.

It looks like Rachel McAdams is going to continue the one-for-them-one-for-me approach. The actress has been oscillating between more indie minded/less commercial fare (relatively speaking) like "The Lucky Ones," "Midnight In Paris" (who would've predicted it would have been a smash hit?) and "State Of Play" and bigger/schlockier stuff like "Sherlock Holmes" and this year's "The Vow." But it looks like the actress is getting a bit more risky and frisky. She's currently lensing "Passion" with Brian De Palma and the provocative first image was unveiled recently, and it looks like the rest of her year will be dominated by a rom-com and a thriller.

It's possible that it's escaped your notice (if you've been, you know, in a coma or a cave or something), but Zooey Deschanel became something of a megastar in the last twelve months. The indie hearthrob had already been on her way, after rom-com "(500) Days Of Summer," but took a risk in moving to the TV world by headlining Fox's "New Girl." It's a risk that's paid off in spades -- the show's been one of the biggest hits of the past season (and quietly, after a dreadful, 'adorkable' start, become a pretty decent little comedy), and has made the actress a household name.

Potentially unpopular opinion ahoy: Richard Curtis is a pretty great writer. Don't get us wrong, we don't like "Love Actually" or "Pirate Radio"/"The Boat That Rocked" any more than you do, but "Four Weddings and a Funeral," "Notting Hill" and "Bridget Jones' Diary" make up as good a run of rom-coms as anyone has ever had (particularly when compared to the dismal current state of the genre), and his lower-key, more emotional work on the likes of "The Girl in the Cafe," "Doctor Who" episode "Vincent and the Doctor" and the currently-in-theaters "War Horse," is undervalued.
