Robin McLeavy Joins 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter' As The President's Mother

After being linked to the love interest role eventually won by Mary Elizabeth Winstead, little known Australian actress Robin McLeavy has now eventually joined the cast of Timur Bekmambetov's adaptation of Seth Grahame-Greene's cult favorite "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" instead in the role of the former president's mother.

After some mini-drama in which Oscar winner Trent Reznor (we never get tired of writing that) confirmed that he was scoring and appearing in "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" and chastised the internet for ruining the surprise early by that info leaking, the Nine Inch Nails frontman has now bowed out of the project. Or to hear him to tell it, he was never really involved in the first place. Something like that.

It's hard to keep anything a surprise these days, especially when it comes to movies with spies and leaks coming from everywhere up the Hollywood food chain. "The Muppets" and "Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows" recently had their cameos given away (though the leak of the latter was less upfront than the rampant casting bits that went out for the former) and it turns out one more was also spoiled.

We'll be honest, we're still getting over Trent Reznor being an Oscar-winning composer -- he deserved it, we just never figured the Academy would be that progressive -- but it looks like the Nine Inch Nails frontman has found himself a very lucrative and prestigious gig scoring movies and what the hell, why not start taking roles in the them too?

As Timur Bekmambetov's "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" gears up to shoot in 3D (woo!) next month, the film is putting the finishing touches on its cast.

He and McNairy will play junkies who hold up the high stakes poker game, with Pitt tasked to find them.

Update: Variety reports that Dominic Cooper has also signed on to the film, in the key role of Henry Sturgess that was previously linked to Joaquin Phoenix.

The Gig Is His... If He Wants It ApparentlyWith Benjamin Walker now cast as Abraham Lincoln in the Timur Bekmambetov directed and Tim Burton produced "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" the next big part to be filled is that of the president's mentor and teacher in the story. And it's certainly a juicy role. The film is based on the book by Seth Grahame-Smith which is based on the faux diaries of the president given to the author by a vampire named Henry Sturgess. Sturgess saved Lincoln’s life when he battles a vampire as a teenager, and the two become fast friends. Sturgess teaches Lincoln about the history of vampirism, trains him in combat, and sends the president to hunt and kill evil vampires. And now a pretty interesting name is being linked to teach the former president how to kick vampire ass.
