So, is AMC ready to go sci-fi? Well, it might be a smart play. The zombie genre has proven to be a massive success with the network, with "The Walking Dead" a big hit and it looks like they might want to see if sci-fi can do something similar.

In case you've been living under a rock, or were somehow unaware, we hate to break it you: "Breaking Bad" is done this summer. The acclaimed, hit series wraps up the fate of Walter White in just a few months time, and after that, AMC will be left with a considerably big hole in their schedule that they'll need to fill. Could "Low Winter Sun" be the next show we're all going to be talking about?

Exciting news for “Boardwalk Empire” fans – Jeffrey Wright will join the show for its fourth season next year as a series regular. He'll be playing “Valentin Narcisse, Doctor of Divinity, philanthropist, student of culture and the man who runs Harlem.” So he’s a character with a pretty impressive CV, and it's some nice casting for a show that continues to cast respected character actors. Wright recently finished work on “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” where he played the notable character from the books, Beetee.

Malin Akerman has had a bit of an unlucky run on the big screen in 2012, with "Wanderlust" and "Rock Of Ages" both underperforming, and the upcoming "Stolen" with Nicolas Cage looking like....well, a Nicolas Cage movie. But she's hoping to cap off the the year on a stronger note. The actress is headed to the small screen for some guest stints on ABC's "Suburgatory." The episodes, set to air near Thanksgiving and Christmas, will find her popping up as the "beautiful and free-spirited singer-songwriter" mother of Tessa (Jane Levy), with whom she hopes to form a relationship and put her troubled past behind her. "Suburgatory" returns in October.

Singular in its completely unfettered, direct process from development to screen, “Louie” has quickly emerged as the natural extension to Louis C.K.'s unique voice, and in the middle of its strongest season to date, FX has announced plans for the obvious while AMC look to the future beyond “Breaking Bad” with a new show of their own.

Well, that's it: AMC has canceled their controversial series "The Killing." The studio has opted not to renew this Seattle-set crime drama for a third season. Are you surprised? Well, the writing was on the wall for a while, and we essentially called this one from the beginning of season two when we reviewed the premiere that prompted this piece: "Another Long Jerk Around & Why You Should Continue With [The Killing] At Your Own Peril."

Where does Mark Strong find the time? Since his face first became widely recognizable back in 2005/6 it seems he’s rarely been away from our screens, and usually in a mixture of high profile films and acclaimed smaller efforts. And audiences across the pond know that in 2006, Strong was also making his last appearance on the British miniseries “Low Winter Sun,” and it looks like it may be the same material that’s tempting him back to the small screen six years later.
