After 6-9 months of fevered speculation and prognostication, the 2012/2013 awards season climaxed on Sunday night with the 85th Academy Awards, as Ben Affleck's "Argo" took Best Picture, Ang Lee won his second Best Director Oscar, Daniel Day-Lewis became the first person to win three Best Actor awards, Christoph Waltz took his second Supporting trophy in four years, and Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Lawrence won their first awards.

Last fall, to the sadness of fans everywhere, it was revealed that the hit show "Louie" would not be returning to the small screen until 2014. Louis C.K. -- who writes, directs, stars and edits each episode -- said, "I want season four to go somewhere new…I'm looking back to when I did the first season and the time I took to do the show and decide which directions to go in and I want that back again. I want a little breathing room." At the time it was said he was planning to start writing early in 2013, but he's got a gig coming up that will likely come first.

Many have posited that when F. Scott Fitzgerald said there are no second acts in American lives, he meant, we cannot escape our pasts. Someone who has proven that maxim wrong is director David O. Russell. As he told THR directors' roundtable recently, the latter half of the aughts landed in the filmmaker in a tricky place.

We can' t have been the only one that felt that Amy Adams got a little cheated at the Oscars a few years back. Melissa Leo is a wonderful actress, and was very good in "The Fighter," but she wasn't even in the Best Supporting Actress in that film, let alone among the nominees. That particular honor went to Adams, who was tremendous in David O. Russell's film, and if we'd had our way, it would have been her walking away with the statuette in February 2011, not Leo.

Looks like Aaron Cross is taking over for Bruce Wayne. With Christian Bale busy hanging out with Terrence Malick and a bunch of beautiful women for the rest of 2012 on "Knight Of Cups" and the movie formerly known as "Lawless," it means he has to bounce out of David O. Russell's "American Bullshit." But a worthy replacement is in the wings.

David O. Russell isn't straying too far from his recent tried and true collaborations. Reports surfaced earlier this year that Christian Bale and his "Fighter" director would be re-teaming again for a Black List script called, "American Bullshit." Written by Eric Warren Singer ("The International"), and a project that Ben Affleck was eyeing in January, it appears that not only is Bale in talks to star, but Russell's most-current lead Bradley Cooper (he stars in "The Silver Linings Playbook") is on board as well.

If you're Ben Affleck, the world is your oyster right now. The actor/director is coming off "The Town" the box office sensation and Warner Bros. Oscar hope that has a strong chance to slide into the ten films nominated for Best Picture and as such, he's been offered plenty of high profile follow-up gigs. Affleck has seen films like "Superman: Man Of Steel" (now with Zack Snyder) and "Tales From The Gangster Squad" (now with Ruben Fleischer) cross his desk, he's writing the New York Yankees wife-swapping drama "The Trade" with his brother Casey as a potential directing vehicle, he's got the parallel timeline, sci-fi tale "Replay" under consideration and he's toying with an idea for a film about the Eastern Congo. And now one more film is being thrown into the mix.
