American Hustle
For all the dumb “American Hustle” vs. “Wolf Of Wall Street” bickering by critics (which prompted New York Times doyen A.O Scott to scold folks on Twitter,) what did it land both films? Zero Oscars. For David O. Russell’s film, being nominated for 10 Academy Awards and receiving none must have hurt. But with the Oscars in the past, Sony can concentrate with the here and now as “American Hustle” is available on DVD and Blu-Ray this week.

American Hustle
When “American Hustle” was released three months ago, the buzz surrounding the film was deafening. It received highly favorable reviews, won best picture with the New York Film Critics Circle, and then was nominated for ten Academy Awards. Then, of course, there was some backlash against the film from those who did not deem it to be so awards worthy. But now, after the movie came home empty-handed from last Sunday’s Oscars, that means we can just enjoy the film again, right? Hopefully, that’s the case, since “American Hustle” comes out on DVD/Blu-Ray just two weeks from now.

2014 Oscar Winners
...And that's it on another year. As always, the Oscars were both exciting, (mostly) sleep inducing, surprising and left us with lots to talk about. But it's late, we're tired and filled with nacho cheese, so we're going to be a bit brief for now.

2014 Oscar Selfie
What's up party people, here is your official Playlist Oscars 2014 live-blog, steered with reckless, and rosé-soaked abandon by me, Katie Walsh. I'm no awards pundit, or expert, but I am an enthusiast for fashions, celebrities, and live television mishaps, which is what these awards shows do best, as well as hand out shiny gold doorstoppers to the best and brightest of Hollywood. It's also a wonderful way to celebrate the end of what has seemed like an incredibly long and convoluted Oscar season (which really, is most of the year now), and tonight will no doubt be a great catharsis of all our collective anxieties, disagreements and heated opinions.

Annapurna Sizzle Reel Her Spring Breakers American Hustle Foxcatcher
As Sunday's Oscar ceremony rolls closer, Megan Ellison has a lot be proud of. And just as they did for 2012, Annapurna has cut together sizzle reel highlight their accomplishments in 2013.

American Hustle Robert De Niro
"De Niro is extremely meticulous when he's really passionate about something and we had endless conversations," director David O. Russell said last fall at a press conference for "American Hustle." "He loved the fact that this man [Victor Tellegio] spoke Arabic—which happens to be one of the true things in the story. Truth is crazier than fiction, but there was a mobster who spoke Arabic... He was really into meticulously constructing this guy. He wanted to do something he'd never done before." And the result is one of the most memorable moments in the film.

Gravity and 12 Years A Slave
After a few weeks off from awards ceremonies, the two-week homestretch of the season, ahead of the Oscars two weeks from now, gets underway tonight with the 2014 BAFTA Awards. The British Academy of Film and Television Arts have, in recent years, become an increasingly convincing predictor of which way the Academy will go, though as ever, there's always some differences (last year, for instance, saw "Amour" star Emmanuelle Riva take Best Actress).
