Summit Already Planning 'Red 3' Before 'Red 2' Even Opens, Because Old People With Guns Is Always Funny

While the sequel to "Red," the 2010 action comedy that starred Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, John Malkovich and Morgan Freeman as over-the-hill assassins, doesn't open until the middle of July, Lionsgate and producers Lorenzo Di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian are already plotting a third film, with screenwriting siblings Jon and Erich Hoeber back for a third go-around (according to the Hollywood Reporter). "Thank god!" said nobody.

TIFF '11 Review: Fernando Meirelles' International Love Story '360' May Leave His Fans Heartbroken

In a photo studio in Vienna, a sleazy photographer (Johannes Krisch) is coaxing a young Slovakian woman Mirkha (Lucia Siposová) into posing for her first nude pictures. We soon find out this man is also a pimp and the pictures are for luring clients on the internet. Her younger sister Anna (Gabriela Marcinkova) tries to persuade her to reconsider but she has her mind made up. She needs the money and wants to change her life. Her sister intones through darkly humorous voiceover “If there’s a fork in the road, take it.” It’s a highly provocative opening for what ends up being just a so-so anthology of interweaving tales, even though director Fernando Meirelles ("City Of God," “The Constant Gardener”) assembles an international cast with interwoven stories spanning Vienna, Paris, London, Bratislava, Rio, Denver and Phoenix.

Anthony Hopkins To Play Psychic Doctor In 'Solace'

Looks like yet another script is going to have the honor of being covered with "NAR" notes. Anthony Hopkins has signed on to star in "Solace," a long-in-development script that would feature the Academy Award winner as a psychic ex-doctor who now works for the FBI. However, he soon meets his match when he encounters a serial killer who also possesses an uncanny sense of clairvoyance.

Also Producing, But Not Yet Directing, Churchill/Roosevelt Film With Anthony Hopkins Angelina Jolie's a funny one. She's a good actress and a giant movie star, but at least for this writer, she's barely made any good movies. Michael Winterbottom's "A Mighty Heart," which features the actress' best performance, is great (and underrated), and "Girl, Interrupted," "Changeling" and "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" all have their defenders, but personally we can't find much to like in any of them. But, if the actress gets her way, there's one project on her dance card which certainly has our attention.

And More We Learned From The Filmmakers Of 'Thor'"Thor" is swinging its mighty hammer into cinemas this weekend, and it may be a surprise to many moviegoers, proving to be a lighter, jauntier superhero film that the material might suggest. The cast and filmmakers did the press rounds, and as usual, bits and pieces about what might be in store for the future Marvel universe were hinted at, but also just as intriguingly, the process on making "Thor" was brought to the fore as well. Playlist writer Leah Zak spoke with Marvel guru Kevin Feige in an interview as well as participating in group conversations with the rest of the "Thor" team and here's what we learned.

The summer of superheroes is about to kick off, and it's only a matter of days until the world gets its first look at "Thor," Marvel's latest piece of an insanely ambitious five-film plan building towards next summer's team-up movie, "The Avengers." And for some time, it looked like the film had an uphill battle ahead of it -- last year's "Iron Man 2" was, at best, a disappointment, and early looks at "Thor" had veered from the underwhelming to the silly. But ahead of its release in some parts of the world next week, and the States on May 6th, the film has now screened, with the world premiere taking place in Sydney last night, and critics there, as well as in London, where the film unspooled last week, and L.A, where a very select group of geek press were shown the picture, have weighed in. So, what's the word?
