Just last week, Zack Snyder randomly called in to a Detroit radio station to defend the cinematic incarnation of Aquaman. While the filmmaker refused to say whether or not the character would appear in "Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice" or would be saved for "Justice League" it's safe to say that Aquaman, set to be played by Jason Momoa, is a big part of Warner Brothers' superheroic future.

As was revealed a few days ago, Warner Bros have big plans for their DC Comics superhero films. Last year's "Man Of Steel" kicked off their current iteration of the DC-verse, but it's 2016's "Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice" that will really kick off the studio's answer to Marvel's wildly successful pictures. The movie looks to be the first in a run of as many as three movies a year, and aside from Henry Cavill's Superman, will also introduce Ben Affleck's Batman, Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, and Cyborg, played by Ray Fisher.

Last night came a minor bombshell of news surrounding Warner Bros.' developing "Justice League" movie: Zack Snyder has been tapped to direct, it will shoot back-to-back with "Batman Vs. Superman," and if all goes according to plan, it will hit theatres in 2017. And like we said then, that means there's going to be rumors for at least the next couple of years, especially since the script isn't finished and is still being worked on. So, might as well start now.

Just when you thought there couldn't possibly be any superhero movie news, or even any more weekends between now and 2024 without a superhero flick scheduled for release...comes news of two more spandex-scented projects (sort of).
